Thomas Keller’s ad hoc at home is a revelation. Truthfully, this is the closest I could possibly get to a dedicated blog in the vein of a “my cooking through Insert Title of Cookbook Here blog.” Of course, I’m in Ohio and Mr. Keller is in California and while life has gotten significantly easier in terms of food sourcing, there are still some hurdles in the CA vs. OH real-world practicalities of it all. And while I’d love to throw all fiscal caution to the wind in the name of good food and avail myself of all specialty stores and/or internet options out there, I have to admit there actually are practical limits (exceptions made for veal shanks). Then again, I could work on this project so long that eventually Ohio megamarts will start carrying Piment d’Espelette as a commonplace spice.
